Crime alerts for Fairfax, Valley Glen, 9 other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 11 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Seven neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Fairfax (A) was the most unusual, recording nine reports compared with a weekly average of 1.5 over the last three months.

Elysian Valley (H) topped the list of five neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded three property crimes compared with its weekly average of 0.8 over the last three months.

One neighborhood, Valley Glen, triggered alerts for both violent and property crime.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Sept. 2–Sept. 8, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
