Crime alerts for West Hills, Glassell Park and 14 other L.A. areas

In 16 L.A. neighborhoods, crime reports are up significantly for the latest week, according to an analysis of Los Angeles Police Department data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.

Ten neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. West Hills (A) was the most unusual, recording three reports compared with a weekly average of 0.3 over the last three months.

Glassell Park (K) topped the list of six neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 14 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 7.3 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Aug. 30–Sept. 5, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
