Eight arrested in two Hollywood robberies

Eight people were under arrest Tuesday for investigation of two strong-arm robberies in Hollywood, police said.

The names of those suspected in the robberies, which occurred Monday night and early Tuesday, were not immediately released, but six of the people are men and two are boys, said Lt. David Ferry of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Ferry said the investigation was just beginning, but the eight were suspected of robbing three people of money, clothing and cellular phones in the two robberies.

Investigators tracked the stolen property to a park in North Hollywood, where the eight were taken into custody, Ferry said.

Officers seized property allegedly taken in the robberies, he said.
