Fire breaks out along PCH in Laguna Beach

A blaze has broken out near the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Nyes Place in Laguna Beach, authorities said Sunday.

A dispatcher for the Orange County Fire Authority confirmed that the fire began Sunday afternoon but had no other details.

Witnesses said the fire appears to be in the hills above Laguna Terrace Park, near the Montage Laguna Beach hotel, and that helicopters have begun dropping water.
