Earthquake: 3.5 quake strikes Beverly Hills

[Updated at 12:29 a.m.: An earlier version of this post reported the quake was a magnitude 3.4 temblor.]

A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Friday morning in Beverly Hills, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:03 a.m. Pacific time.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was a mile from Century City, two miles from West Hollywood, nine miles from Inglewood and nine miles from the Los Angeles Civic Center.

In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.

The quake was felt over a wide area.
