Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Las Vegas
A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Thursday morning 131 miles from Las Vegas, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:36 a.m. PDT at a depth of 5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 29 miles from Tokop, Nev., and 36 miles from Beatty, Nev.
In the past 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
