Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes near Bombay Beach

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Monday morning five miles from Bombay Beach, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 8:44 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 35 miles from El Centro and 91 miles from San Diego.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
