Domestic-violence suspect, SWAT team in South L.A. standoff

An armed domestic-violence suspect barricaded himself inside a South Los Angeles residence Friday morning, police said.

A SWAT team arrived about 4:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, said Officer Tenesha Dobine of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said a woman and her daughter were evacuated safely from the location after a domestic-violence episode involving a weapon.

The suspect, however, refused to surrender and remained in the residence hours later.
