L.A. deputy gets jail for sex with girl, 15

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was sentenced Friday to 90 days in county jail on charges of having sex with a teenage girl, prosecutors said.

Deputy Kenneth Alexander, 46, pleaded no contest in August to one count of oral copulation with a minor.  Alexander, who was assigned to the sheriff’s Marina Del Rey station, allegedly had sex with the girl at her home over a five-month period starting in 2010, when she was 15.

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said Alexander will be fired.

“Nobody is above the law,” Whitmore said.

Alexander is also getting five years probation and 52 weeks of sex offender counseling, according to the district attorney’s office.
