CHP stops Mercedes after long pursuit on 101 Freeway

The California Highway Patrol has taken two people into custody in Hollywood after a Mercedes-Benz led police on a pursuit on the 101 Freeway through the San Fernando Valley.

Officials said they tried to pull over the vehicle near the Ventura County border just after 8 a.m. when it  was seen traveling about 90 mph and weaving through traffic. The driver refused to yield and a pursuit began, reaching speeds in excess of 101 mph on the freeway.

News helicopter video of the arrest showed what appeared to be a male driver and female passenger being led away. The vehicle had slowed when it encountered heavy traffic around Universal City.
