2 crashes shut lanes on southbound 405 Freeway
ATwo accidents, one fatal, temporarily closed down all lanes of the southbound 405 Freeway in North Hills late Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
In the first accident, at 9:05 p.m., a vehicle struck and killed a man who had walked onto the freeway. A motorcyclist was involved in the second accident, at 9:26 p.m. There were no details on whether the motorcyclist was injured.
A SigAlert was issued at 9:38, closing all southbound lanes at Nordhoff Street. The third and fourth lanes have since reopened, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
