Woman missing after snorkeling near Rancho Palos Verdes
Authorities are looking for a woman who did not return home after telling her husband she was going snorkeling near a resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.
Rebecca Weiss of Marina del Rey told her husband Saturday that she was heading to a spot near the Terranea Resort, one of the couple's favorite snorkeling spots, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
When Weiss, 50, didn’t return home by 5 p.m., her husband drove to the area, where he found items belonging to her on the beach.
Divers from the Los Angeles County Fire Department / Life Guard Dive Division began searching the area at 6 a.m. Sunday along with sheriff’s deputies but were unable to locate her.
Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
