A tour bus caught fire Monday on the 710 Freeway in Commerce, causing the closure of some southbound lanes.

According to the California Highway Patrol website, the chartered bus caught fire near the Washington Boulevard exit south of the 5 junction. No passengers aboard appeared to be hurt.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department was at the scene trying to put out the blaze.

The fire was causing significant backups on the 710 and 5 freeways. The southbound 710 was closed for a time, but some lanes have reopened.
