Toddler flown to hospital after driveway car accident

An 18-month-old girl was flown to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Tuesday after being hit by a car in Sun Valley, authorities said.

The accident took place in the driveway of a home at 10836 Roscoe Blvd. shortly before 11 a.m. and may have occurred when someone was trying to park a car, said Lt. Debra Brounsten of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division. The investigation is ongoing, she said.

The girl was in serious condition but did not have injuries that were considered life-threatening, said Matt Spence, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
