Suspicious death investigated in Chatsworth

Los Angeles police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old woman whose body was found Thursday at her home in Chatsworth.

Sgt. Humberto Najera of the LAPD Devonshire Station said the death has been deemed “suspicious” based on the woman’s age and the location of her body inside the residence.

Detectives were still on scene Thursday night and had yet to determine the manner of death, he said.

Najera said the body was found by another resident at the home who called the Los Angeles Fire Department at around 6:50 p.m. After they reached the scene, the firefighters contacted the LAPD.

Najera described the home as a “small rental property” on the 10800 block of Old Susana Pass Road in Chatsworth, and said the deceased woman was a tenant there.
