Soldier from Southern California killed in Afghanistan
A U.S. Army soldier from Southern California has been killed in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Friday.
Pfc. Jesus J. Lopez, 22, of San Bernardino was killed Wednesday by a roadside bomb in Paktika province. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, Kan.
