Deputies shoot, wound man in Compton; second man sought

Sheriff's deputies in Compton shot one man and are searching for another following a confrontation shortly after noon Thursday.

The 12:30 p.m. shooting wounded the man in the 1200 block of Palm Street, sheriff's officials said. No deputies were injured.

Authorities were seeking a second man. The circumstances of the shooting were unclear, and officials did not know if the men were armed.
