Search for missing hikers canceled after they return home

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has called off a search for two hikers who were missing in the Angeles National Forest, officials said Thursday.

A search and rescue team from the department’s Altadena Station went to Millard Canyon on Wednesday afternoon looking for a man and a woman who had not returned from their hike, said Dep. Aura Sierra. The search was canceled a few hours later after both hikers found their way out and returned home, Sierra said.

The search took place on the same day that a man fell to his death at a waterfall in the picturesque Eaton Canyon recreation area.
