2 painters seriously injured in fall at Pacific Palisades home

Two painters suffered serious injuries Tuesday when they fell from the second story of a home in Pacific Palisades, authorities said.

Both men fell about 4:10 p.m. while working on a home in the 1000 block of North Vista Grande Drive, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Humphrey said the men thought they were standing on support beams, but the beams turned out to be weaker decorative structures.

Both painters were flown to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where they were treated for multiple fractures and internal injuries, Humphrey said.
