Murder, attempted suicide leave 3 dead, 1 in hospital in San Diego

The deaths of a mother and two young children are being investigated as a murder and attempted suicide, San Diego police said Monday.

The woman's estranged husband is being treated in a hospital after allegedly killing her and their two children and attempting to kill himself, said Lt. Ernie Herbert. The cause of death has not been determined, he said.

"There is no evidence to indicate that there any additional or outstanding suspects in the crime," Herbert said.

The three who died are Lilly Blunt, 33; Linna Blunt, 3; and Richard Blunt, 7 months. The suspect is Clarence Blunt, 55; the couple was going through a divorce, according to neighbors. The three bodies were found in the living room, Herbert said.

Police went to the family home in the Paradise Hills neighborhood Sunday night after receiving a call from a family member.
