Man dies of apparent self-inflicted gunshot at O.C. shooting range

A man died of a gunshot wound Thursday at an indoor shooting range in Huntington Beach. Police said they were still investigating, but they believe the wound was self-inflicted.

It wasn't immediately clear, however, whether the shooting was a suicide or accidental. The victim's name and age were not released.

The Huntington Beach Police Department responded to the shooting at 12:16 p.m. at the Firing-Line Indoor Shooting Range in the 17900 block of Jamestown Lane, said Lt. Chad Nichols.

No other details were released.

A man who answered the phone at the range declined to comment.

The firing range, which has locations in Burbank and Northridge, offers classes on how to properly use firearms, according to its website.
