Malibou Lake man found dead inside home is identified

A Malibou Lake man found dead after a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department special-weapons team stormed his home was identified Monday by the coroner's office.

Robert Textor, 69, was discovered Sunday with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, hours after deputies — assuming he had a weapon and was barricaded inside — had set up a perimeter and evacuated nearby homes, officials said.

Deputies had responded Sunday morning to the Paiute Drive residence, located in an unincorporated part of the Santa Monica Mountains, after receiving a report of a possible domestic disturbance. Textor never responded to deputies, who had spent several hours outside the home trying to make contact.

A handgun was found on the scene, sheriff’s officials said.
