Map shows the area where a woman's body was found early Monday.
Los Angeles police were investigating the death of woman whose naked body was found Monday next to a dumpster in Pacoima.

Firefighters were alerted about 2:15 a.m. Monday by an anonymous caller who reported a victim with breathing problems in the 13100 block of Carl Street, police said.

The rescuers found a woman in her 20s, who was dead and lying on a sidewalk, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy. The LAPD said detectives were treating the case as a homicide until other evidence is uncovered.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives Byers or Santana at (818) 834-3115. Police said anonymous tipsters can call (800) 222-8477.
