Lake Elsinore man sought after girlfriend's body found in motel
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is searching for a Lake Elsinore man considered a "person of interest" in the slaying of a 47-year-old woman whose body was found in Poway.
Deputies discovered the body of Christine Stewart on Wednesday afternoon in a motel located in the 13800 block of Poway Road.
Two days earlier, Stewart and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Joseph Dorsey, had been reported missing by the department. They had been last seen on Saturday, officials said.
Investigators said they believe that Stewart was killed elsewhere and then moved to the motel where her body was found.
Dorsey was last seen driving a dark blue 1994 Ford Explorer with a gray hood and fender and a California license plate reading 6UDY773, authorities said. He was described as being 6-foot-1 and having brown hair.
Anyone with information about Dorsey or Stewart is encouraged to contact Investigator James Merrill of the Sheriff's Department's Central Homicide Unit at (951) 955-2777 or Investigator Ronnie Rosas of the Perris Station at (951) 210-1000.
