L.A. Now Live: Discuss effort to overturn pot shop ban

The Times' City Hall reporter Kate Linthicum will join L.A. Now Live at 9 a.m. to discuss efforts to force a referendum to overturn the ban on medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles.

Supporters of medical marijuana are expected to deliver the petition signatures of 50,000 voters.

If the signatures prove valid, officials will be required to temporarily suspend the ban, which was approved with much fanfare last month and was due to go into effect Sept. 6.
