Homeless woman stabs boyfriend in back, police allege
A 59-year-old woman was arrested early Friday after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the back inside a south Glendale hotel room, police said.
The woman, Darnell Hall, was taken into custody about 12:24 a.m. on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly using a three-inch knife to stab her 46-year-old boyfriend in his lower back, according to Glendale police reports. He was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The boyfriend hailed police outside of Glendale Lodge in the 1500 block of East Colorado Street and pleaded for help.
Moments earlier, he told Hall that he was going to pick up some cigarettes and began leaving the motel room when she allegedly stabbed him, police said.
He told officers that she carried the knife in a sheath hung around her neck.
Hall, who is a transient, allegedly claimed she stabbed him after he was aggressive during an argument about whether to listen to the radio or watch TV, police said.
Officers noticed she was slurring her words and appeared to be intoxicated because she had a strong odor of alcohol, police said.
Police found the knife in Hall’s purse and a spot of blood on the carpet in the motel room.
Hall had been arrested July 12 after she allegedly stabbed a homeless man during an argument, according to police.
