Earthquake: 3.5 quake strikes near Parkfield
A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Friday afternoon 10 miles from Parkfield , according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 2:44 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 15 miles from Coalinga , 16 miles from Bradley and 119 miles from San Jose City Hall.
In the past ten days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
