Earthquake: 3.5 quake strikes near Bishop

A shallow magnitude 3.5 earthquake was reported Friday morning two miles from Bishop, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:05 a.m. PDT at a depth of 8.1 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was four miles from West Bishop, four miles from Wilkerson and 188 miles from Sacramento.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
