Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near El Centro
A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Friday morning near the California-Mexico border, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:05 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 8.1 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was seven miles from El Centro and 93 miles from Tijuana.
In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
