Bomb threat call at LAX being investigated by authorities

Los Angeles police and airport officials are investigating a bomb threat and examining an area for a suspicious device.

"At approximately 2:05 p.m., Los Angeles Airport Police responded to a report of telephonic bomb threat," Sgt. Belinda Nettles said. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating. The Los Angeles Police Bomb Squad and Los Angeles Fire Department are on the scene.

LAX officials have blocked off a portion of the roadway around the airport.

No other information was immediately available.
