All lanes of 405 Freeway reopened after five-hour jam
All six lanes of the northbound 405 at the 101 Freeway have been reopened after a big-rig collision that touched off a five-hour SigAlert, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Much of the northbound freeway through the Sepulveda Pass had been closed since about 5:30 p.m., when a sedan collided with a big rig near the busy interchange.
Crews worked through the night to clean fuel that had spilled onto the road, and traffic was jammed for miles. The last lane was finally reopened about 10:45 p.m., CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
