210 Freeway closed in both directions [Updated]

The 210 Freeway was closed in both directions Friday afternoon because of a serious accident. [Updated at 4:26 p.m.: Most lanes have been reopened.]

The crash, which involved a big rig truck, occurred on the eastbound 210 Freeway at La Tuna Canyon Road. At least one person was seriously hurt.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it was closing the freeway to get a medical helicopter on the roadway.

Traffic in the area was jammed.

It is unclear how long the freeway will be closed.
