Hurricane Fabio remnants cause thunder across Southern California
Remnants of Hurricane Fabio caused loud thunder to echo late Wednesday across Southern California.
The thunder, which at times has been accompanied by small amounts of rain, is expected to continue through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
"It's just the remnant moisture going on top of us," said Todd Hall, a meteorologist with the agency's Oxnard Office.
Earlier, the moisture and the refraction of sunlight amid the cloud cover led to pink and orange sunsets across the region.
Late Wednesday, people on Twitter reported hearing loud thunder across the L.A. area.
