Teen killed in apparent gang-related shooting in North Hollywood

A 15-year-old boy was killed in North Hollywood on Tuesday night in an apparent gang-related shooting, police said.

The boy was shot several times in the upper body in the 11000 block of Tiara Street about 8:30 p.m., said Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The boy's name has not been released pending notification of family.

Herrera said no suspect description was immediately available.
