Shooting victim crashes car, dies

A man was killed by gunfire while driving in Los Angeles County's unincorporated Florence-Firestone neighborhood Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The victim, who was not identified, was driving near the 1500 block of East Florence Avenue around 4:45 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up next to his and someone opened fire, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim managed to drive about two blocks before losing consciousness and crashing his vehicle in the 7600 block of Compton Avenue, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Anthony Moore said. No other motorists were hurt.
