Crews battle 200-acre brush fire near Palmdale

A brush fire had burned about 200 acres near Palmdale.
Firefighters were battling a brush fire Tuesday night that had scorched about 200 acres in the Palmdale area, officials said.

The blaze broke out about 9:15 p.m. near Magnolia Lane and Boxwood Place and quickly spread from about 20 acres as it was pushed by 10- to 15-mph winds, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. No structures were immediately threatened.

Fire engines, camp crews and water-dropping helicopters were responding to battle the blaze.

No other details were immediately available.
