Authorities in Palmdale are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects they say broke into a local storage yard and stole 50 bags of lawn fertilizer.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials in Palmdale said they believe the theft from the Pelona Vista Park at 37700 Tierra Subida Ave. was committed late at night on July 16 or early July 17.

“We believe it may have taken some time to load all the bags into whatever vehicle may have been used so someone may have seen something,” said Palmdale Sheriff’s Station spokesman Lt. Cory Kennedy in a written statement.

The fertilizer is described as a brand called Best Turf Supreme.

Anyone who might have seen someone selling bags of this type of fertilizer at a venue other than a licensed business -- such a garage sale or swap meet -- is urged to call the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station at (661)-272-2506, authorities said.
