One person was killed and another injured Monday after a helicopter crashed in Riverside County.

The crash was reported about 10:15 a.m. in a field in the Winchester area off Borel and Buck roads, said Deputy Albert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Emergency crews found one person dead and the other was treated for minor injuries.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said the aircraft was a Robinson R22 helicopter but no other details were immediately available. Investigators from the FAA were en route to the crash site.

No information was available about the victim or the person who survived.

The crash site is about four miles east of the French Valley Airport, near Lake Skinner.
