Federal officer kills another officer in bar brawl, police say
One of two men shot by a federal police officer at a Modesto bar was another federal officer, officials said Tuesday.
The victim who died, Daryl Chargualaf, 34, and the alleged shooter, whose name has not been released, got into an argument about 1:30 a.m. Sunday involving a group of people inside O'Malley's Bar on Standiford Avenue, according to the Modesto Bee.
The fight soon moved to the parking lot, where the gunman killed Chargualaf and injured another man who had been fighting, the paper reported.
Officers detained the alleged shooter at the scene for questioning, officials said. Investigators are looking into whether he used his service weapon and whether he was intoxicated.
Fox 40 reported that he and the other officer worked for the Defense Logistics Agency.
