A Marine pilot ejected safely before his AV-8B Harrier crashed 15 miles northwest of Yuma, Ariz., the Marine Corps said Thursday.

The pilot, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital for observation after Wednesday's crash. There was no reported damage on the ground, according to officials at the Yuma Marine Air Station.

The plane was from Marine Attack Training Squadron 203 from Cherry Point, N.C. The crash is under investigation, Marine officials said.
