L.A. Now Live: Discuss the state parks cash controversy

Times Capitol bureau reporter Anthony York will join L.A. Now Live for a discussion about the state parks' $54-million hidden surplus, a revelation that sparked an ongoing scandal.

The discussion is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday.

York and Times reporter Chris Megerian have been reporting on the surplus and how it was stashed away -- even as the parks system was cutting services and threatening to close facilities. The department's director resigned last week.

Much of the money appears to have been stashed in a fund for buying and managing land for off-road vehicles.
