L.A. Now Live: Discuss the Anaheim police shootings

The Times' Orange County reporter Nicole Santa Cruz will join City Editor Shelby Grad to discuss the controversy over a fatal officer-involved shooting in Anaheim that has prompted protests and outrage.

The chat is scheduled for 9 a.m. today.

Manuel Angel Diaz, 25, was shot to death by an officer in an east Anaheim neighborhood on Saturday evening. The incident prompted protests from residents, who threw bottles and rocks at police. Police used pepper balls to disperse the angry crowd of about 100 that had gathered. In addition, a police dog was accidentally released into the crowd.

Then on Sunday night, police shot and killed a man in an unrelated incident.

Residents and community activists have been protesting every night since the shooting and are planning a large rally today outside City Hall before a scheduled City Council meeting.
