Crime alerts for Highland Park and 13 other L.A. neighborhoods
Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 14 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times' Crime L.A. database.
Seven neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Highland Park (A) was the most unusual, recording 10 reports compared with a weekly average of 3.5 over the last three months.
Sylmar (H) topped the list of seven neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 34 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 24.7 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for July 18–July 24, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
