Man apparently jumps to death at The Grove

A man apparently jumped to his death from the sixth floor of a parking structure at The Grove shopping center Sunday evening, Los Angeles police said.

The unidentified man is believed to be 27 years old, and he was with friends when he jumped around 7:30 p.m., police sources said. Details were not immediately available, but police said they believed the death was a suicide.

There were preliminary reports of shots fired, but police said that was not the case.

Officials from The Grove had no immediate comment.
