Human remains found in Riverside County canal
Authorities in Riverside County on Monday were trying to identify human remains found in a canal.
Deputies on Sunday responded to a report of a suspicious odor coming from the canal in the 3300 block of La Rue Street in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
The deputies uncovered the remains and turned the case over to the county coroner's office.
The investigation is still underway. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Brett Johnson at the Jurupa Valley Station at (951) 955-2600.
