San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies were investigating Friday the double shooting deaths of a man and woman found on the floor of their Hesperia home.

The bodies of Michaly Soos, 67, and Cleother Turner Pitts, 71, were discovered in their house in the 9200 block of C Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after relatives had tried without success to telephone them and gain entry to the house, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman.

Deputies forced their way in and found the dead couple, she said.

The pair suffered gunshot wounds, but investigators were awaiting autopsy results to better determine the circumstances of the deaths. No one has been arrested in the case and Bachman said she did not know whether there were signs of a robbery or a struggle.
