Car crash kills woman, injures man in Watts

A woman died and a man was injured Saturday evening when their car overturned in Watts.

The crash took place around 7:35 p.m at East 113th Street and Compton Avenue. A green Acura Integra overturned, trapping a 32-year-old woman inside, police and fire officials said. The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 39-year-old man who was in the car with her was transported to a local hospital, where he was in fair condition, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the car to overturn. Police remained on the scene investigating.
