Escaped prisoner from Donovan state prison captured

EscapeAn escaped prisoner from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility on Otay Mesa near the Mexican border has been captured without incident, prison officials said early Sunday.

Juan Ledesma, 23, was found shortly after midnight near the prison, officials said. He had been reported missing about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Ledesma was sent to the prison in August on a drug possession conviction and, before his escape, was set to be released in September.
