Earthquake: 3.9 quake strikes near Yucca Valley
A shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported Thursday morning two miles from Yucca Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:54 a.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5.6 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was six miles from Joshua Tree, 10 miles from Morongo Valley, 19 miles from Twentynine Palms and 100 miles from San Diego.
In the last 10 days, there have been three earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
