Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near Channel Islands Beach

A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Saturday afternoon 22 miles from Channel Islands Beach, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 3:06 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 0 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 23 miles from Port Hueneme, 25 miles from Oxnard and 64 miles from Los Angeles Civic Center.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
